Impact of AGNs on the Surrounding Medium

چکیده

The timeand ensemble-averaged mechanical energy outputs of radio galaxies may be large enough to offset much of the cooling inferred from X-ray observations of galaxy clusters. But does this heating actually counterbalance the cooling, diminishing cooling flows or quenching them altogether? I will argue that energy injection by radio galaxies may be important even in clusters where no active source is present, due to the likely intermittency of the jets. If the energy injected by radio galaxies percolates through the intracluster medium without excessive mixing, it could stabilize the atomic cooling responsible for X-ray emission.

Study of the effects of lower bainite volume fraction on tensile and impact properties of D6AC medium carbon low alloy ultrahigh strength steel

The effects of lower bainite volume fraction on tensile and impact properties of D6AC ultrahigh strength steel were studied in the current work. To obtain mixed microstructures containing martensite and different volume fractions of the lower bainite, specimens were austenitized at 910° C, then quenched in a salt bath of 330°C for different holding times, finally quenched in oil. In order to ob...

EFFECT OF ELECTRIC FIELD ON PD ACTIVITY AND DAMAGE INTO SOLID DIELECTRIC MATERIALS

Abstract – In this paper, the effect of applied electric field on the damage due to partial discharges activity into the surroundings dielectrics of a narrow channel encapsulated within the volume of a dielectric material is evaluated using a kinetic model based on Particle in Cell - Monte Carlo Collision (PIC-MCC) model. After application of an electric field across a dielectric material which...

Buckling Analysis of a Double-Walled Carbon Nanotube Embedded in an Elastic Medium Using the Energy Method

The axially compressed buckling of a double-walled carbon nanotabe surrounded by an elastic medium using the energy and the Rayleigh-Ritz methods is investigated in this paper. In this research, based on the elastic shell models at nano scale, the effects of the van der Waals forces between the inner and the outer tubes, the small scale and the surrounding elastic medium on the critical bucklin...

Obscuration and circumnuclear medium in nearby and distant AGN

Some recent results on the physical and statistical properties of nearby and distant AGN are presented. I first discuss the properties of “elusive” AGNs, i.e. obscured AGNs which do not show a Seyfert-like spectrum in the optical. Then I present preliminary results from a detailed study of the contribution of obscured AGNs and of their host galaxies to the infrared cosmic background. Finally I ...

Evaluating the impact of length and thread pitch on the stress distribution in dental implants and surrounding bone using finite element method

longevity of osseointegrated implants are intensely influenced by biomechanical factors. Control of these factors prevents mechanical complications, which include fracture of screws, components, or materials veneering the framework. In this study, the impact of length and threads pitch of dental implants on the stress distribution and maximum Von Mises stress in implant-abutment complex and ja...
